The Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine takes a scientific approach to alternatives for animal testing, and supporting a healthy and cruelty-free lifestyle.

The American and National Anti-Vivisection Societies, founded in 1883 and 1929, take a multi-faceted approach to encouraging alternatives for animal testing. AAVS also publishes an annual "Compassionate Shopping Guide", which details companies that do and don't test on animals, or use animal products (the Compassionate Shopping Guide is also available online!).
